The Vital Need for a STEM-Centered Education

According to the World Economic Forum, the United States is 52nd in the quality of mathematics and science education, and 5th (and declining) in overall global competitiveness. The U.S. Department of Labor projects that 7 of 10 of the fastest-growing occupations over the next ten years will be in STEM fields.

If America is going to regain and maintain its prominence in the global economy, it will have to prepare its workforce to compete with the rest of the world by providing relevant STEM education opportunities to ever-greater numbers of its population.

The Embry-Riddle STEM Education Center will play an important role in this effort by:

  • Providing students access to the latest technology and equipment to translate information, ideas, and skills into tools for problem solving.
  • Promoting STEM education to high-school and middle-school-level students in the area.
