At Embry‑Riddle, we consider aviation and aerospace the world’s most exciting work. Driven by our ongoing commitment to teaching, research and service, we are dedicated to providing a highly skilled cadre of students to lead and advance companies in the booming industry of global aerospace.

To help us accomplish this mission, we partner with organizations to support students throughout their educational experience and beyond. Below are some examples of partnerships we've developed to nurture the success of our students and the influence the future of the industry.

The Boeing Company

The Boeing Company has established a permanent endowment at Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University, to assist students interested in pursuing a pilot’s license and certificates in aviation maintenance. This scholarship seeks to increase the number of underrepresented populations in the pilot workforce, particularly women and persons of color, as well as veterans.

According to Boeing's 2018 Pilot & Technician Outlook, the industry will need 790,000 new civil aviation pilots and 754,000 new maintenance technicians to fly and maintain the world fleet over the next 20 years.

FedEx Corporation

The aviation industry is facing a widely anticipated shortage of aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs). To contend with the potentially severe effects on the airline industry, FedEx is supporting Embry‑Riddle students in their pursuit of Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certifications, through the Purple Runway Aviation Scholarship.

The scholarship aligns with an important need to prepare future generations of AMTs and instructors for the workforce.
